The Polygyros Archaeological Museum houses exhibits from all over Chalkidiki. In the museum’s spaces, it holds three permanent exhibitions: one with findings from the most important archaeological sites of the prefecture, one with findings from the three colonies of Andros in Chalkidiki, Stageira, Akanthos and Sani, as well as the exhibition of the Lambropoulos Collection.
The port of Spinalonga is situated on the northwest side of the gulf of Mirabello. On the entrance of the port, close to the Spinalonga peninsula, is where the skerry of the same name is located, entirely surrounded by a fort.
The visitor becomes acquainted with the arts of ancient Chios, understands the history and topography of the island, and realizes the island’s importance during the ancient times.
Rhodes Archaeological Museum contained prehistoric and Mycenaean artifacts, jars of the Geometric, Archaic and Classic periods, sculptures, writings, a collection of rhodian sealed jars, coins, a collection of the byzantine and medieval era as well as a folklorar collection.
