Although, if you want to experience the trip with all your senses, what you have to do is follow a bumpy dirt road (a car is required) from the village of Kaliviani and continue on foot from the parking lot for 2 kms. You will then be astounded by the magic that will be unveiled before your eyes, when you look at the out-of-this-world, almost lunar landscape of Ballos.
The National Museum of Modern Art began operating in 2000. This was a step to fill a big gap that existed for many years on international modern art for Athens.
