In the museum you can find exhibits that cover the times from 8th century BC to 2nd century AD. The exhibition is housed at the old Mayor Manor, a building of the 19th century. It is a two storey building with four exhibition areas.
The Fountain of the Lions or "Lions" is one of the central parts of the city. It is well known except by locals and foreigners. The fountain was built in 1628 by General Provisioner Francesco Morosini to help supply water to the city, which suffered from water scarcity.
The Archanes Arachaeolgical Collection was inaugurated on August 21 1993, in the centre of the Archanes town, on the Tzami district.The exhibits are laid out in chronological order.
At the end of an unforgettable trip, through the southern end of the White Mountains, lays the beach of Sougia, 67km south of the capital. A mix of sand and pebble, clean and deep waters, and an “unofficial” meeting point for nudists.
